Duke abandoned her aspirations to become a teacher after winning $70,000 in her first month of poker competition - a haul bolstered by a 13th place finish at the 1994 World Series of Poker. She soon established herself as one of the game's greats, winning a WSOP bracelet in 2004. That August, Annie knocked out nine Texas Hold'em legends to rake in $2 million at the WSOP Tournament of Champions.
